Abstract

The report covers the issues of appointment and procedure of forensic smuggling expertise. The particularities in the forensic smuggling investigation are examined. The most typical complex of the expert examinations is specified taking into account the features of the smuggling items and the methods used in definite cases of smuggling crimes, It is analyzed deeply the appointment and production of forensic examinations concerning commodity, car merchandising, fine arts, assay, drugs hard drugs, handwriting and fingerprints, etc. The author shares the views by Ya. P. Nagnojniy, R. S. Belkin, Yu. N. Belyozerov, A. A. Chuvilev, E. N. Tikhonov, M. V. Saltevsky about the possibility of forensic examination before the institution of criminal case. The author recommends adding special amendments to criminal procedure legislation particularly for cases when their problem solving requires special expert knowledge.
