Abstract
In connection with the legislative fixation of diminished sanity, the question of the correlation of sanity, insanity and diminished sanity arose. The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of similarity and difference between these concepts. The statements of scientists about this issue are analyzed. Arguments that diminished sanity is a kind of sanity are given.
